Desirée has a degree in Library Science and is currently enrolled in higher education courses. She has actively volunteered at the university where she works, holding positions in the Staff Senate, sitting on various action boards, volunteering with the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity, and teaching Leadership Studies courses and workshops including topics such as Gender Based Violence Prevention and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB).
